SWR BARROSELAS METALFEST is one of the oldest extreme music festivals in Europe, running non-stop since 1998. SWR stands for Steel Warriors' Rebellion, Barroselas is our hometown, and Metalfest, you know what that means! Located since the first edition in this quiet village from the northwest of Portugal and about 80km north from Porto, the region is notorious by the sandy Atlantic beaches, the tasty seafood and homemade delicatessens, the green nature and the cold white wine. The festival has two indoor stages playing alternately and combining a varied range of styles, an obscure metal market, food and drinks court, cafe and a free camping in the forest. We love a killer live band, we love illustration and the dark artworks of metal, we love to share new music and new artists, we love freedom and companionship.
